European Handicap (EH) is different from Asian Handicap. In European Handicap, the “Draw” is still a possible outcome. There are no “pushes” or refunds—you either win or lose.
This calculator helps you determine the potential profit for these 3-Way handicap markets, which often offer higher odds than standard Asian lines.

How European Handicap Works
In this market, the handicap is applied to the final score.
- Home -1: You bet on the Home team to start with a -1 goal deficit. They must win by 2 or more goals for you to win.
- Draw -1 (Home -1): You bet that the Home team will win by exactly 1 goal (e.g., 1-0, 2-1). After applying the -1 handicap, the result becomes a “Draw”.
- Away +1: You bet on the Away team starting with a +1 goal lead. You win if they win OR draw the match.
Example: The “Draw” Trap
You bet $100 on Liverpool -1.0 at odds of 2.50.
- Result: Liverpool wins 1-0.
- European Handicap: You LOSE. (1 minus 1 = 0. The match ended in a handicap draw).
- Asian Handicap: You would have PUSHED (Refund).
Because European Handicap includes the risk of the “Handicap Draw,” the odds are usually higher than the Asian equivalent. Use this calculator to see if the extra reward justifies the risk.
