The “To Score in Both Halves” market offers high odds, but it is difficult to predict. A team might score early and then defend, or start slow and score late.
This calculator breaks down the match intensity (typically 45% of goals in the 1st half, 55% in the 2nd) to calculate the mathematical probability of a team finding the net in both periods.
Score Both Halves
How the Math Works
To score in both halves, two independent events must happen:
- Goal > 0 in 1st Half.
- Goal > 0 in 2nd Half.
Example: Finding Value
Team Stats: Expected Goals (xG) = 1.8.
- 1st Half Exp: 0.81 goals. (Probability of 1+ goal: ~55%).
- 2nd Half Exp: 0.99 goals. (Probability of 1+ goal: ~63%).
- Both Halves Probability: 0.55 * 0.63 = 34.6%.
Fair Odds: ~2.88.
If the bookmaker offers 3.50, it is a high-value bet.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is this better than Over 1.5 Goals?
It is riskier. “Over 1.5 Goals” wins if the score is 2-0 at halftime. “Score in Both Halves” loses in that scenario. Because the condition is stricter, the odds are significantly higher.
