How to Use the Calculator

The Math: Bernoulli Trials and Cumulative Probability

How Slot Jackpot Odds Are Determined

Slot machine outcomes are controlled by a Random Number Generator (RNG), which selects a number for each reel on every spin. This number maps to a position on a virtual reel — a strip of “stops” that can be much larger than the physical symbols you see.
