These are full-match probabilities, not the chance of any prize or profit. Every distinct complete line has the same full-match probability in a fair draw. A wheel cannot predict winning numbers.

How to use the lottery wheel calculator
- Choose the format. Custom mode covers games drawing 3–7 distinct main numbers from a range of up to 90. Powerball and EuroMillions presets also include their separate extra-number pools.
- Enter your main-number pool. Type numbers separated by spaces or commas, or open the number grid. Select at least as many numbers as each main line needs. The initial 1–8 pool is an example, not a recommendation.
- Choose the wheel type. Full includes every combination. Banker requires one or more fixed numbers from your pool. Reduced asks how many main matches you want, conditional on how many drawn main numbers fall inside the pool.
- Set extra numbers and price. For the two named games, enter a Powerball or Lucky Star pool. Each main line is paired with every allowed combination of those extra numbers. Enter the actual price per complete line in your currency; changing game format does not change the price.
- Calculate, inspect and export. Review the condition, cost and odds. Copy the complete list or download CSV/TXT. The screen shows 50 lines per page, while exports contain every generated line.
Editing an input clears the old result. The hard generation and export limit is 5,000 complete lines. Above that, the calculator gives a summary without producing a partial list. Reduced wheels accept at most 12 selected main numbers so every coverage scenario can be checked.

A banker lottery wheel reduces the number of tickets, but that alone does not make it an abbreviated wheel with a lower-tier covering guarantee. The generator labels these modes separately. No selected number has a higher draw probability merely because it is marked as a banker.
Example 1: an eight-number lottery wheel for 6/49
Select 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, then choose six numbers per line. The full wheel contains C(8, 6) = 28 lines. At an illustrative price of 2.00 per line, the cost for one draw is 56.00.
There are C(49, 6) = 13,983,816 possible six-number results. Your 28 distinct lines give a full main-match probability of 28 / 13,983,816: approximately 0.000200% or 1 in 499,422. The wheel has 100% coverage of its selected pool’s combinations, not a 100% chance of winning the draw. Calling this a jackpot guarantee also requires the game’s top prize to depend only on those six main numbers.
Example 2: a Powerball banker wheel
Take ten main numbers including 7 and 14, choose five per line, and fix 7 and 14 as bankers. A full main wheel would have C(10, 5) = 252 lines. The banker wheel instead has C(8, 3) = 56 main lines. It retains 56 / 252 = 22.22% of the full main combinations; it does not retain all the original coverage.
With one selected Powerball, there are 56 complete entries. Using a price of $2 per entry gives a cost of $112. With two selected Powerballs, each main line appears twice with a different extra number: 112 complete entries costing $224 at that same price. To match the jackpot, both bankers must be drawn, all five white balls must belong to your pool, and the winning Powerball must be among your selected extra numbers. A match of the five white balls alone is not the jackpot.
Example 3: what a 3-if-6 guarantee means
Choose a pool of 1–12 for a six-number game, select Reduced, and ask for three main matches if six drawn main numbers fall inside your pool. This reduced lottery wheel generator produces two main lines:
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
- 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
If six drawn main numbers are among those twelve, they split across these two lines. At least one line must contain three or more of them. The calculator checks all C(12, 6) = 924 possible six-number subsets and confirms that even the weakest scenario has a line with three matches.
Only 2 of the 924 full main combinations remain: approximately 0.2165%. Most possible six-number results inside the pool are therefore not covered as full matches. Whether three matches qualify for a prize depends on the game, and a prize can be smaller than the total ticket cost.
The construction chooses lines that cover the most still-uncovered scenarios, uses new pool numbers to break ties, and ensures every selected number appears at least once. Number frequency need not be balanced. It then independently checks the completed list against every required scenario. Verified coverage does not prove the fewest possible lines. Some settings may produce the full wheel rather than a useful reduction.
Formulas, line counts and cost
The lottery wheel calculator uses N for the game’s main-number range, n for your selected pool size, k for the main numbers per line, and b for the number of bankers. Combinations ignore order and do not allow a repeated number within the same main line.

If exactly k bankers are entered, the wheel has one main line. Other selected main numbers then never appear. For a reduced wheel, L is the number of lines in the completed construction, not a general factorial formula.

These prices are illustrations, not current prices for a particular national lottery. Set a spending limit before expanding the pool: one extra selected number can add many ticket lines.
Powerball, EuroMillions and full-match odds
Powerball uses five main numbers from 69 and one separate Powerball from 26. EuroMillions uses five main numbers from 50 and two Lucky Stars from 12. The independent extra pool is part of the jackpot calculation. Powerball rules; Irish National Lottery’s EuroMillions guide.
For L distinct main lines paired with all E selected extra combinations:
- Full main-number match probability:

(L × E) / [C(N, k) × C(M, q)], where M is the extra-number range.
The denominators are 292,201,338 for a complete Powerball entry and 139,838,160 for a complete EuroMillions entry. Three selected Lucky Stars create C(3, 2) = 3 pairs, not three independent Stars on one entry. For example, Stars 1, 2 and 3 generate pairs 1–2, 1–3 and 2–3 for every main line.
The probability formulas add mutually exclusive full-match outcomes from distinct complete entries in the same draw. They do not assume the lower-tier wins on different lines are independent. Separate raffles, Plus games, bonus balls drawn from the remaining main balls, multipliers, taxes and prize-sharing are outside this model.
Coverage is not a payout or profit forecast
Two sets of the same number of distinct complete entries have the same jackpot probability in a fair draw with equally likely outcomes. Their patterns of smaller wins can differ because lines overlap. A lottery wheeling system is useful for specifying that overlap and checking a conditional promise; it is not evidence that a chosen pool is better than a random one.
For a full main wheel only, if your n-number pool contains exactly m winning main numbers, the number of lines with exactly j main matches is:
C(m, j) × C(n − m, k − j)
For an eight-number pool with six numbers per line and exactly four winning main numbers in the pool, this gives six lines with four matches, sixteen with three, and six with two: 28 lines in total. A payout calculation would additionally need the game’s prize table and any extra-ball results. This formula does not apply unchanged to banker or reduced wheels.

Frequently asked questions
What is a reduced lottery wheel?
A reduced or abbreviated wheel uses a subset of the full main combinations under a stated coverage condition. In this generator, t-if-g means at least t main matches on one line if at least g drawn main numbers fall in your selected pool. Every required pool scenario is checked before that condition is reported as verified.
Does this calculator guarantee a win?
It verifies combinations and conditional main-match coverage, not the draw result, a prize or a profit. A full wheel contains the full main match only when all drawn main numbers are in your pool. Banker wheels additionally require all bankers to hit. Powerball and EuroMillions jackpots also require the correct extra numbers.
Can I use this for Pick 3 or Pick 4?
Not for ordered digit games with numbers such as 000, 112 or 321. This tool chooses distinct, unordered numbers without replacement. Its three-number and four-number settings describe that model only. A digit-game straight or box wheel needs a different generator that supports repeated digits and the relevant order rules.
What is the advantage of using a wheeling system?
It organizes distinct ticket combinations, makes the cost visible and lets you inspect a specified coverage condition. It does not increase the likelihood of your preferred numbers or improve jackpot odds compared with the same number of other distinct complete entries.
Does 100% combination coverage mean a 100% chance of winning?
No. It means every main combination from your selected pool is present. The draw uses the game’s entire number range, which is usually much larger. The lottery wheel generator displays combination coverage and full-match probability separately.
Is the reduced wheel guaranteed to use the minimum number of lines?
No. A greedy construction is followed by exhaustive coverage verification for pools of up to 12 main numbers. Every selected number appears at least once. The verification proves the displayed match condition for the finished list; it does not prove global minimality or balanced number frequency.
Can I export a wheel larger than 5,000 lines?
No. Larger wheels receive a line-count, cost and probability summary only. The generator does not silently truncate them or export an incomplete list. Reduce the main pool or extra pool, introduce bankers, or use a suitable reduced-wheel condition.
